• To submit your video, you must sign up for a YouTube account (which is FREE) and agree to YouTube’s “terms of use.” If entry is removed by YouTube, it will be disqualified from the Contest. If entry can’t be find on YouTube either because the link is not just or because of removal from the side of YouTube your entry will be seen as unvalid. Call of the Youth contest: please submit your project to us directly in one of the following formats: .wmv, .avi, .mov, .mpg, pdf, mp3
• The person submitting the video may work as part of a team, but only one person can submit the official Entry.
What cannot be in the video Entry?
• Videos must not contain material that violates, misappropriates or infringes (or may infringe) any copyright, trademark, logo, mark that identifies a brand or any other proprietary right of any person, living or deceased (including but not limited to rights of privacy or publicity or portrayal in a false light), or entity, are inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, slanderous or libelous; promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on age, disability, gender, nationality, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
Submitters of the contest agree that World Culture Festival will determine which entries are acceptable in its sole and absolute discretion, and all decisions are final. Any submissions regarded as unacceptable by World Culture Festival for any reason may be disqualified in World Culture Festival’s sole and absolute discretion.
How many Entries can You submit?
• You are only allowed to submit one Entry. If you are part of a team that consists of the same members, you may only submit one entry regardless of the identity of the Submitter.
What format and how long should the Entries be?
Change for Peace Contest and Call of the Youth: max 5 minutes.
Music/Top Performers Contest: max 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
What are the dates of the video Contest?
Video submissions are accepted starting at 12:00 noon. EST on March 17, 2010, until 11:59 p.m. EST on June 1, 2011 (the “Submission Period”). The general public may vote for their favorite videos based on the criteria described below until the close of the Submission Period at 11:59 p.m. EST on June 1, 2011 (the “Public Voting Period”). From 12 a.m. EST on June 1 2011, until 11:59 p.m. EST on June 7, 2011, our panel of Judges will vote on the top 10 entries as voted by the general public, including the top five judged by World Culture Festival. The judges will not know which videos have the top votes vs. which videos World Culture Festival has selected. Winners will be announced on June 8, 2011. Dates are subject to change.
How is the Change Through Peace Contest judged?
During the Public Voting Period the general public can vote for their favorite video based on the following criteria:
• Overall impact (message about peaceful social change, story-telling, feeling left with after watching)
• Creativity
• Use of visuals (photos, video effects)
In the event of a tie, World Culture Festival Youth Committee will re-judge the entries based on the judging criteria above and provided on the webpage.
By participating in the Contest, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the final decisions of the Youth Committee Judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
How will the Winners be notified?
Change Through Peace Contest: Winners will be notified by phone, e-mail or skype mid June. The selected winners will be invited to participate on a panel at the Youth Conference and share their video and experience with their peers from around the world. The panel will be asked to field questions and answers post-presentation in a dialogical discussion.
Call of the Youth: Winners will be notified by phone, e-mail or skype mid June. The selected winners will be invited to present in front of an expected crowd of 70,000 people from around the world.
Youth Idol Contest: Winners will be notified by phone, e-mail or skype mid June. The selected winners will be invited to perform on one of our pavilion stages.
In the event that a winner chooses not to participate in the World Culture Festival, the runner up will be contacted. World Culture Festival is not responsible for travel expenses, accommodation, or entrance fees for the selected winners as this event is a non-profit celebration for world peace. Sorry we don’t have any money so if you have extra come sponsor us and bring all your friends with you!
What are the other general terms and conditions?
• If you violate the Official Rules of the Contest you will be disqualified.
• World Culture Festival reserves the right to preview the submissions before they are published to the Contest site.
• Once submitted, the entry is considered final and may not be modified or edited.
• Entry materials (e.g., the file containing the submission, participant releases, etc.) becomes the sole property of the World Culture Festival and will not be acknowledged or returned.
• By submitting a video, you warrant that the submission is your original work and that you are the sole author and copyright owner of the Entry and/or you have the right to grant the assignments, transfers, waivers and licenses granted in these Official Rules.
• Entrants must obtain signed release forms from each Participant that contributes to and/or is heard or appears in their submission. (please see consent form found on webpage) (requires free Adobe Reader software). By submitting an Entry, you attest that the you have made all those depicted in the video aware that the you are creating a video that will be submitted for use in connection with this Contest, and all Participants have agreed that you may submit such video and have agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in the Official Rules. Entrants may be required to submit signed release forms from each Participant.
• Please provide the YouTube URL and embedded codes.
• The Contest is void where prohibited by law, regulation, statute or other appropriate authority.
• All Entrants and Participants, as a condition of entry into the Contest or being able to appear in any Entry, agree to release World Culture Festival and its agencies, parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies and each of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, members, employees, agents, assigns, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest (collectively the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with submitting an Entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Contest and participation in the World Culture Festival.
• All Entrants and Participants, as a condition of entry into the Contest or being able to appear in any Entry, agree to indemnify and hold the Released Parties harmless from and against any claim arising out such Entrant’s and/or Participant’s participation in any aspect of the Contest or participation in the World Culture Festival, including any claim that any Entry and/or Entry Materials infringe, violate or misappropriate the intellectual property rights (including publicity/privacy rights) of any third party.
• By entering the Contest and/or accepting the role of a guest panelist, speaker, or performer you grant the Released Parties permission to use your name, likeness, biographical materials and/or Entry/Entry Materials for promotional and any other legal purposes (including any possible public relations opportunities) without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
• By entering the Contest, Entrants agree that World Culture Festival and their affiliates or representatives are not responsible or liable for, and shall be released and held harmless from: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of any of the foregoing that may cause the Contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (iii) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest; and (iv) any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in the Contest, including claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy.
• World Culture Festival reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify you if you tampers or attempts to tamper with the Entry process or the operation of the Contest; violate the Official Rules; act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner; or act with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. The Released Parties are not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications, whether caused by the sender, by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest which may limit the ability to participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the Entries in this Contest.
• World Culture Festival reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend, or suspend the Contest if it cannot be completed as planned for any reason (in world culture festival’s sole and absolute discretion), including in the event computer virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other causes beyond World Culture Festival’s control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Contest.
• As a condition of entering the Contest, you agree that: (i) under no circumstance will you be permitted to obtain awards for, and you hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for out-of-pocket expenses; (ii) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, by arbitration and (iii) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys fees.
• By submitting an Entry, you represent: (i) that the Entry is your own original work that has not previously been entered into any contest or sweepstake or won a prize or award; and (ii) any and all rights to the Entry belong, or have been appropriately licensed, to you and the Entry does not infringe, misappropriate or violate the rights of any third party. Any Entries that World Culture Festival, in its sole and absolute discretion, deems to be inappropriate for publication will not be considered.
Notice of Infringing Entries
To file a notice that any Entry infringes the copyright rights of any third party, please provide a notification containing the following details:
• A physical or electronic signature of person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple copyrighted works at a single online site are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works;
• Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed or access to which is to be disabled, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material;
• Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact the complaining party, such as an address, telephone number, and, if available, an electronic mail address at which the complaining party may be contacted;
• A statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
• A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

Counter Notification
If you are an Entrant whose Entry has been taken down as result of a notice filed pursuant to the forgoing section, you may file a counter-notification that contains the following details:
• Your physical or electronic signature;
• Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled;
• A statement from you under the penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled; and
• Your name, physical address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of any judicial district in which World Culture Festival may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification of allegedly infringing material or an agent of such person.
